Pharmacist, PRN

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safe, appropriate use of medications by reviewing prescriptions, monitoring drug therapy, and providing drug information.
• Managing patient education, care plans, and medication therapy evaluations for diverse populations.
• Collaborating with healthcare providers, handling prior authorizations, and participating in departmental committees and educational activities.
• Supervising pharmacy support staff, verifying tasks, and acting as a liaison between pharmacy and patient care areas.
• Providing clinical services, lab reviews, and experiential training for pharmacy staff and students.

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred), with eligibility for licensure within four months.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy practices, medical terminology, and regulations (including DEA and state boards).
• Strong communication, mathematical, computer, and aseptic technique skills.
• Ability to handle urgent and stressful situations effectively.

This role reports to a supervisor and involves variable work shifts, primarily located at Blount Memorial Hospital.
