About the Role

What You Will Do In This Role
- Assists in delivery and maintenance of pharmacy services.
- Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners.
- Provides communication of pertinent pharmacy issues.
- Supervises technicians.
- Assists the Director with clinical functions such as drug reviews, DUE criteria, antibiotic sensitivity reports, adverse drug reaction reports, and pharmacy interventions summary.
- Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department. Collects and analyzes data and maintains documentation of all clinical activities.
- Participates in hospital meetings/committees as required.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed and registered by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Three years of experience as a practicing pharmacist in a hospital or commercial drug store.

- Emergency drug therapy – ACLS/BLS
- Pharmacokinetics
- Patient counseling
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of:
- The practice of institutional pharmacy
- Pharmacy reference materials and utilization for provision of drug information
- Computer systems
- Practice of inventory/stock controls and systems
- Drug/solutions delivery systems
- Drug interactions/incompatibilities
- Current laws/regulations which affect the practice of pharmacy
- Human development knowledge/skills
- Pharmaceutical Care Needs of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric Patients
- Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's
- Know how to open, read, and respond to email
- Know how to manage electronic files
- Know how to print electronic documents and reports
