Pharmacist (Per Diem)

About the role

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Pharmacists for their Inpatient Pharmacy Department. The position is open to candidates regardless of prior pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports the medical team by providing advice on optimal drug therapy.
• Dispenses medications to patients following department procedures and protocols.
• Safely, cost-effectively, and timely controls, monitors, and dispenses medications for all age groups.
• Supervises medication preparation by pharmacy technicians.
• Advises nursing personnel on appropriate medication administration.
• Promotes the rational use of medications through drug information and clinical monitoring services.

Requirements

• Pharm.D. or equivalent degree.
• Current Connecticut Pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain within 45 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical principles and practices.
• Experience with pharmacy software and systems.
