Job Summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Full-time, Contract Pharmacist to join our Night Shift team in San Luis Obispo, CA. Travelers must live within 50 miles of San Luis Obispo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of night-time dispensing and verification of prescriptions with accuracy and compliance.
• Ensuring controlled substance handling follows regulatory and internal procedures.
• Leading medication safety initiatives and incident reporting during night shifts.
• Providing clinical guidance on drug interactions and dosing for night operations.
• Maintaining on-site protocol adherence, quality checks, and audit readiness.
• Collaborating with day shift pharmacists to maintain continuity of care.
• Monitoring inventory levels, performing stock checks, and coordinating restocking.
• Documenting and communicating outcomes, metrics, and deviations to senior staff.
• Engaging in continuous learning to advance toward higher clinical responsibilities.
• Addressing patient and caregiver inquiries with clear, accurate pharmaceutical information.
• Accessing and utilizing pipelines to forecast workload and optimize staffing and targets.
• Supporting onboarding and development of junior pharmacists and interns.

Requirements

• Active pharmacist license in the relevant jurisdiction with Night Shift permit.
• 7on-7off night shift experience with high accuracy in dispensing.
• Strong knowledge of controlled substance handling and regulatory compliance.
• Clinical pharmacology expertise for drug interactions and dosing guidance.
• Inventory management proficiency including stock checks and restocking.
• Quality assurance, audit readiness, and incident reporting workflows.
• Experience using workflows pipelines to forecast workload and staffing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-shift collaboration.
• Mentorship skills to onboard and develop junior pharmacists and interns.
• Data-driven mindset with ability to document metrics and outcomes for senior staff.
