Pharmacist - Lead Retail
Role Summary
The Lead Pharmacist has primary responsibility for the effective management of an individual pharmacy operation (e.g. satellite, clinic) and is the permit holder of the pharmacy operation’s license. Lead pharmacists work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, other healthcare providers and patients to strategize individualized therapies and optimize outcomes through both innovation and application of readily available evidence based standards of care. Lead pharmacists interpret and evaluate the appropriateness of prescription orders and are responsible for the accuracy and safety of prescribed pharmaceuticals. Lead pharmacists communicate drug information to all customers, train pharmacy staff, provide pharmaceutical care and educate patients.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
Preferred Education: Pharm.D. degree is preferred
Required License: An active license to practice in North Carolina, or eligible to become licensed in North Carolina within 60 days
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous community or retail pharmacy management experience is desirable
