About the role

The Student Health and Counseling Center within the Division of Student Affairs strives to support students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Pharmacist II. Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of general licensed pharmacist duties for students in TitanHEALTH (student health center).
• Interpret prescriber orders and select, compound, and dispense prescriptions.
• Counsel and educate students regarding proper administration and storage of prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
• Develop and distribute educational materials for students relative to over-the-counter and prescription pharmaceuticals.
• Consult with and advise physicians and other practitioners on drug selection, dosage, administration, side effects, interactions, and alternative drug therapies.
• Administer overall pharmacy operations as Pharmacist-in-Charge, including planning and organizing ongoing operations, budget monitoring, scheduling, and training pharmacy staff.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal licensing and regulatory requirements and reports, as defined by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Collaborate with the health center leadership team to develop pharmacy policies and procedures, maintain proper documentation for accreditation and regulatory audits.
• Develop and maintain a complex pharmacy formulary and inventory, order pharmaceuticals and supplies.
• Assist with campus-wide wellness outreach (e.g., Annual Flu Clinic, mobile health clinics, WellFest).
• Ensure prompt and proper disposal of expired medications.
• Provide lead work direction to other licensed pharmacists and pharmacy support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) college of pharmacy program or other program recognized by the board as defined by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Equivalent to three to five years of progressive operational and administrative experience working as a licensed pharmacist.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all state and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy operations and the requirements of serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations and administration; and campus budgetary processes in relation to the pharmacy.
• Working knowledge of human resource processes and procedures.
• Ability to develop, implement, and communicate pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols, including those related to pharmacy security.
• Ability to develop a quality assurance program and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive pharmacy budget.
• Ability to provide lead work direction to other licensed pharmacists and pharmacy support staff.
• Must possess and maintain a valid license to practice as a registered pharmacist as defined by the California Board of Pharmacy.
• Must have a reliable source of transportation.

Pay

Classification Range: $10,047 - $14,636 per month (Hiring range depending on qualifications, not anticipated to exceed $10,047 - $12,492 per month).

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
