About the Role
The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups (including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonatal patients). They are responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of both the prescribing and effectiveness of all medications and IV admixtures. They exercise considerable independent decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Provide pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups (geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonatal).
- Prepare, dispense, and monitor the prescribing and effectiveness of all medications and IV admixtures.
- Provide clinical services such as patient counseling, education, consults, and Medication Therapy Management when needed.
- Identify and report hazardous environments, safety issues, and medical errors to appropriate personnel.
- Perform any other assigned tasks as appropriate.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of Pharmacy, or a foreign equivalent educational degree; BS in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
- Current Registration in New Jersey as a Licensed Registered Pharmacist.
- Familiarity with all phases of Hospital Pharmacy.
- Working knowledge of public health matters.
- Familiarity with Federal and State laws regulating professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy.
- Understanding of the role of the Hospital Pharmacy Department within the Hospital, its interrelationships with other departments, and functions.
- Successful completion of all orientation materials.
- Successful completion (90%) of all assigned departmental competencies.

$72.45 per hour
