Summary

Administers medication to patients according to prescriptions, provides patient education, and participates in various patient-centered services. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy department and supervising staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complies with federal, state laws, and company policies.
  • Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, maintains records, and manages inventory.
  • Counsels patients and medical providers on drug use, interactions, and side effects.
  • Participates in immunization, MTM, and wellness programs.
  • Supervises pharmacy staff and ensures compliance with policies.
  • Trains pharmacy interns, technicians, and associates.
  • Provides exemplary service and resolves customer issues.
  • Engages in business development and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
  • Immunization Certification.
  • Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage and evaluate others' work.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to dress code.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing devices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Age 21 or older.
  • Passes DL Monitoring.

Education and Experience

Demonstrates excellent communication skills, follows through to achieve results, and demonstrates follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

Physical Requirements

  • Uses pharmacy computer system, telephone systems, point of sale systems, pill counting devices, and automated dispensing devices (robots).
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized workstation.
