Pharmacist Clinical

About the role

As our Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting provider orders and prescriptions, then compounding and dispensing medications within strict regulatory and professional standards. You will ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care. You will consult with patients and other healthcare professionals regarding medication use and potential drug interactions, providing essential drug information as needed. You will also provide oversight and supervision to pharmacy technicians and supporting staff, directing workflow and ensuring timely completion of duties to contribute to overall pharmacy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and medication orders completely and accurately, completing necessary steps for clarification and validation to ensure safe and effective patient care in compliance with state/federal rules and regulations.
• Monitors drug utilization information and detects potential drug interactions, overlaps, over and under dosing, and other unique situations.
• Demonstrates professional judgment in advising and counseling patients and the healthcare team.
• Participates in Code Blue and other emergency situations to ensure adequate drug supply and appropriate drug use.
• Provides oversight and supervision of pharmacy technicians and other supporting staff, including directing workflow and ensuring completion of duties.
• Maintains accurate and complete records and files, as prescribed by law, of all dispensing transactions of legend and controlled drugs, including wholesale transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
• BLS, CPR certification.
• Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state where employed (PHARM:XX).
• Strong knowledge of Pharmacy Services, current practice concepts, and applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of hospital experience.
• PGY1 residency or BCPS certification.
• ACLS certification.

Pay

$58.83 - $94.20 per hour.
