Essential Job Functions
- Review and execute provider prescriptions for appropriateness and legality.
- Organize the pharmacy to improve product identification and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain control over medication inventory, including stocking, labeling, and monitoring for expiry or deterioration.
- Listen to customer needs, answer questions, and provide information and advice regarding medication use.
- Accurately prepare medications using correct dosages and materials for each patient.
- Maintain detailed patient profiles and records of all medication activities.
- Stay current with HIPAA guidelines and fraud, waste, and abuse credentialing.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as facility policies.
- Direct the daily work of pharmacy technicians, provide input on performance evaluations, and communicate any performance or behavioral concerns to senior management.
- Manage pharmacy technician schedules, and communicate requests for leave or accommodation to senior management.
Education & Skills
- Current license to practice pharmacy (PharmD) in Pennsylvania (required).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (required).
- Great leadership, communication, and management skills (required).
- Minimum 4–5 years of retail pharmacy experience, including at least 3 years in a pharmacy management role (required).
- Previous experience with patient management systems (preferred).
- Experience in a leadership position is helpful.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills to handle objects, tools, or controls.
