About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Pharmacy Services, the temporary full-time pharmacist will provide clinical coverage to an assigned clinical unit. There are no overnight or on-call shifts for pharmacists at BCHS.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate good stewardship in identifying, reporting, and mitigating unsafe acts or conditions (safety is a BCHS corporate priority).
• Practice in accordance with relevant legislation, CSHP standards, professional code of ethics, and department/hospital policies.
• Assume personal responsibility for continual upgrading of medication and therapeutic knowledge through ongoing literature review and education.
• Participate in shift and weekend schedules as per rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Licensed (Part A) Pharmacist in the Province of Ontario.
• Experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy environment (preferred).

• Excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to staying current with drug therapy through continuing education.
• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills for reports and special assignments.
