Pharmacist (7 days on 7 days off)

Guardian Mid-South Pharmacy, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our rapidly growing team in Bartlett, Tennessee. We deliver customized medication-management solutions to healthcare organizations serving seniors and individuals with complex care needs.

About the role

This is a full-time, team-oriented position in a fast-paced, diverse, and inclusive environment where you will prepare, verify, and dispense medications while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations.

Schedule

• 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
• Monday–Friday: 12 pm–10 pm
• Saturday: 8 am–8 pm
• Sunday: 8 am–6 pm

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing, including filling, order entry, and packaging
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly
• Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients’ allergies, incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.
• Interpret prescription orders, exercising professional judgment regarding patient safety and legal limitations
• Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations and applicable compounding guidelines
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers
• Evaluate inventory levels, place orders, and source cost-effective products
• Notify customers/facilities of out-of-stock items and expected fill dates
• Restock station supplies (vials, cassettes, labels, delivery tickets, etc.)
• Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians and provide performance feedback to their supervisor
• Log all medication-error occurrences
• Perform other essential functions and duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
• Active, unrestricted Tennessee pharmacist license
• 1+ years of related pharmacy experience
• Advanced computer skills; experience with pharmacy operations systems preferred
