About the role
The Metabolic Account Specialist position is a key role in the biopharmaceutical industry, focusing on the care of individuals with FOP. This role involves developing and executing strategies to drive awareness and adoption of the company's therapeutic solutions within the FOP market.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key liaison between the company and healthcare professionals such as endocrinologists, medical geneticists, orthopedic specialists, dentists/oral surgeons, pediatricians, and primary care physicians.
- Develop and implement account-specific strategies to enhance the understanding and acceptance of the company’s therapeutic solutions among healthcare providers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and other decision-makers to ensure alignment with patient care goals.
- Deliver clinical and compliance-focused messaging to healthcare professionals through various channels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on strategies and execute account-level plans effectively.
- Provide educational support to HCPs and their staff, covering aspects like disease state, treatment options, and company support services.
- Analyze local market trends to identify new growth opportunities and address potential challenges within the territory.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, congresses, and networking events to build brand awareness and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of account sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, with a focus on rare / ultra-rare diseases.
- Experience in rare musculoskeletal, progressive musculoskeletal, Endocrinology, or orthopedic rare disease markets is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including overnight trips.
Desired Requirements
- MBA preferred.
- 2+ years of experience working with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations.
