About the role

The Cardiometabolic Care Sales Team is dedicated to advancing cardiometabolic disease management by promoting Novo Nordisk’s innovative therapies to healthcare providers. As a specialist, you will connect these therapies with new specialties, advocate for patient health, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute local Sales and Marketing strategies to promote Novo Nordisk products to HCPs (e.g., HEP/GI) and key customers.
  • Maintain relationships with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other key personnel in health care settings and major academic and community health systems.
  • Assist target physicians with local clinical and educational initiatives by coordinating company resources.
  • Demonstrate competencies, drive sales, seek wins, and drive outcomes to exceed goals.
  • Collaborate at a high level by sharing key customer insights/trends with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Lead team/partner initiatives to consistently drive results based on understanding of HCP influence across total geography.
  • Identify and leverage key customer insights to remain ahead of market trends and developments.
  • Seek wins and drive successful outcomes, recognizing opportunities to productively and respectfully challenge and influence target physicians' approach to patient management and add value by sharing new information and unique insights.
  • Leverage superior understanding of complexities within the targeted physician customer base to maximize performance.
  • Apply high-level business acumen and analytical skills to continually advance the business and drive exceptional results.
  • Employ an account mindset by understanding the complexity and dynamics of the local market and adapt to business priorities.
  • Develop and employ business and tailored account plans, utilizing developed tools and resources to address patient needs and meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other representatives to leverage provider relationships in HCP settings to drive results across total geography.
  • Execute sales strategies based on evaluation of customer needs, dynamics, trends, and competitors' products or services.
  • Maintain required activity records/reports, including timely and accurate transmission of call data.
  • Understand the scientific and clinical underpinnings of brand strategies and the implications and importance of generating advocacy and support for them.
  • Show professionalism and a customer-focused approach with internal and external stakeholders by actively listening, identifying and addressing customers and patients' needs, and keeping commitments.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model with external customers and during company-sponsored meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pharmaceutical, medical or healthcare experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to navigate PA’s in rapidly developing market.
  • Health Systems and/or Institutional Account experience is preferred.
  • Clinical approach to selling and engaging customers.
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Prior computer experience using sales data/call reporting software ideal.
  • Knowledge of gastroenterology and/or hepatology experience is preferred.
  • Self-starter and able to evaluate options and make decisions on own with minimal supervision.
