About the role

PGIM's Corporate Mezzanine Fund is seeking an Analyst to help grow the initiative. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain direct buy-side experience across both senior and junior capital investments, with meaningful exposure to the investment committee and senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and analyze detailed financial models to evaluate mezzanine debt and structured equity investments
  • Perform comprehensive underwriting, including credit analysis, company research, and comparable analysis to assess risk, return, and capital structure positioning
  • Prepare investment committee materials and support presentations, gaining direct exposure to senior leadership and the decision-making process
  • Support transaction execution and due diligence, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Monitor an active portfolio of junior capital investments, including financial performance, liquidity, and key credit metrics
  • Afford occasional support for fund and investor activities, including preparation of portfolio updates, fundraising materials, and marketing content

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record; major in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in a role emphasizing financial analysis, with demonstrated proficiency in interpreting financial statements and evaluating business risks
  • Excellent analytical and accounting skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, including debt and equity security terms as well as valuation methodologies
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in investment banking, asset management, portfolio management, leveraged finance, transactions advisory, or valuations
  • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program

Pay

The base salary range for this role is from $85,000 to $90,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL where the team is on-site 3 times a week.
