About the role
We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join PGIM’s Chicago-based private credit regional investment team, which invests across traditional private placements, direct lending, and mezzanine capital in the Midwest. As an Analyst, you will play a key role throughout the investment lifecycle, supporting new investment opportunities through underwriting, due diligence, investment evaluation, and execution. This role offers direct buy-side experience with meaningful exposure to the investment committee and senior investment professionals, providing a strong foundation for a career in private credit investing with one of the largest investors in the private capital markets.
This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, where the team is on-site 3 times a week.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive underwriting and financial modeling, including credit analysis, company research, and comparable analysis to assess risk, return, and capital structure positioning
- Prepare investment committee materials and support presentations, gaining direct exposure to senior leadership and the decision-making process
- Coordinate transaction execution by working with internal stakeholders and external advisors to organize diligence materials, manage process timelines, and support closing activities
- Monitor an active portfolio of private credit investments, including financial performance, liquidity, and key credit metrics
- Assist with quarterly valuations, portfolio reviews, and ongoing portfolio management initiatives
- Occasionally support fund and investor activities, including preparation of portfolio updates, fundraising materials, and marketing content
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong record of academic achievement
- 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, direct lending, or mezzanine investing (recent graduates with relevant internships will be considered)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively in a team environment, and meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and credit fundamentals
- Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Prior exposure to private credit investing, including investment execution or ongoing portfolio oversight
- Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program

Pay
The salary range for this role is from $85,000 to $90,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.
