Pet Sitter - Weekends, Mornings, Evenings

About the role

Join the Passionately Pets Team as an in-home pet sitter and dog walker. This fun and rewarding position gets you outdoors, provides exercise, and lets you care for amazing local dogs, cats, and other companion animals.

Responsibilities

• Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as visits vary based on client needs
• Enter clients’ homes and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15–30 minutes each)
• Act as primary caregiver for pets while their owners are away
• Walk pets as requested
• Feed pets as requested
• Provide appropriate litter box and/or cage clean-up as required
• Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
• Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the owners’ absence
• Clean any accidents or damage discovered in clients’ homes
• Communicate with management

Requirements

• Northern Virginia residence within 5 miles of 22301 is preferred
• Own, reliable mode of transportation
• Reliable smartphone with internet access and data plan
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Timely and punctual
• Able to self-manage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate about animals
• Comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals
• Willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
• Able to make at least a 6-month commitment (longer preferred)
• Able to pass a criminal background check

Pay

Compensation is $24–$28 per hour plus tips, paid on a per-visit basis.
