Pet Sitter - Old Town

About the role

Join the Passionately Pets Team as an in-home pet sitter and dog walker. This fun and rewarding position gets you outdoors, provides exercise, and lets you spend time with amazing local dogs, cats, and other companion animals.

Responsibilities

• Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as visits vary based on client needs
• Enter clients’ homes and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15–30 minutes each)
• Act as primary caregiver for pets while their owners are away
• Walk pets as requested
• Feed pets as requested
• Provide appropriate litter box and/or cage clean-up as required
• Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
• Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the owners’ absence
• Clean any accidents or damage discovered in clients’ homes
• Communicate with management

Requirements

• Northern Virginia residence within 5 miles of 22314 is preferred
• Must have your own, reliable mode of transportation
• Must have your own reliable smartphone with internet access and data plan
• Must be extremely detail-oriented
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Must be timely and punctual
• Must be able to self-manage
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be compassionate about animals
• Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals
• Must be willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
• Must be able to make at least a 6-month commitment (longer preferred)
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Pay

Compensation is $24–$28 per hour plus tips, paid on a per-visit basis.

Set your own hours; this is a part-time supplemental-income position.
