Scope
Under general supervision, is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/Sims and diagnostic radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely transfer of data; and fabricates any necessary immobilization devices prior to scan as needed.
Functions
- Administer Radioactive Tracer (F18 FDG) as well as I.V. contrast
- Perform and maintain quality control procedures for PET imaging
- Perform functional imaging (PET) scans for diagnostic purpose
- Perform diagnostic CT scans for routine radiologic exams
- Perform CT scans for radiation treatment planning purposes
- Fabricate immobilization and other treatment devices
- Perform chest x-rays
- Rotational Call
Qualifications
- Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology
- Registered by ARRT and NMTCB with current license by the state of Louisiana
- 2 years experience as nuclear medicine technologist
- 2 years experience as radiological technologist
- CT experience preferred
- Phlebotomist training preferred
