Job Summary and Qualifications
Techs are responsible for performing Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT examinations according to protocols set by Radiologists and Cardiologists. Scope of practice includes operating nuclear medicine and CT instrumentation, performing diagnostic procedures, patient care, quality control, handling radiopharmaceuticals, using adjunctive medications, in vitro diagnostic testing, radionuclide therapy, and radiation safety. Duties also include clerical tasks, scheduling, transporting, ordering supplies, inventory management, cleaning, and other tasks as directed by the medical imaging management team. Supervision of students may occur.
Requirements
- State License in Nuclear Medicine required
- Certified Nuc Med NMTCB required
- Registered CT required within 1 year of hire
- BLS Required
- Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Program
- Experience as a PET/CT Technologist preferred
