Pet Care Operations Manager - McMurray ($1,000 Sign On Bonus)
About the Role
The Wooflands Manager assists in creating employee scheduling, managing inventory and supplies, promoting and enforcing policies and procedures, and managing support functions and departments of the Kennel's operation. This includes supervising the front office, pet facilities, grounds, laundry, recreation facilities, and programs. The role requires staying current with new policies, programs, and equipment in company protocol.
Responsibilities
- Deliver internal and external guest service the Nemacolin way, going above and beyond for associates and guests.
- Actively build and retain guest relations while mentoring other employees to provide superior guest service.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and cohesive implementation of company guidelines, manuals, and service protocols.
- Purchase supplies and authorize purchase orders within guidelines to ensure timely procurement of necessary items.
- Plan and coordinate meetings, including gathering, compiling, and organizing required information and creating presentation materials.
- Communicate directly and on behalf of the owner, executives, associates, family members, and others on matters related to the owner’s interests.
- Create an inviting environment by combining visual and service atmosphere to convey the right message to guests and their pets.
- Support the Director of Animal Life in ensuring overall company performance and meeting operating objectives and profit targets.
- Prioritize conflicting needs, handle matters expeditiously, and follow through on projects under deadline pressures.
- Address and resolve guest concerns in a timely manner and communicate issues to the Wooflands Manager.
- Work with the Director of Animal Life to develop short- and long-term strategies to capitalize on opportunities.
- Implement and maintain training protocols, ensuring staff completes required training and receives ongoing support.
- Use all required office equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and multitask in high-pressure situations.
- Compose, type, route, and file correspondence and other documentation.
- Communicate professionally with external contacts and all levels of associates.
- Work under high-pressure situations while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize expert-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various computer applications and programs.
- Make independent, advanced decisions for complex problems using critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Exhibit outstanding time-management skills to accomplish numerous tasks and challenging priorities effectively and timely.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Pet Care industry.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to type 45 to 65 words per minute.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Independently initiate, follow up on, and complete assignments and special projects.
- Knowledge of financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers.
- Strong understanding of the hospitality industry is helpful.
- Demonstrated interpersonal sound judgment and decision-making skills in directing administrative tasks.
