About the role

Colleyville Animal Clinic is a well-established, AAHA-accredited small animal practice looking for a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Whether you already have veterinary experience or are eager to begin building your career in veterinary medicine, we're excited to meet motivated individuals who are ready to learn and become part of our close-knit hospital family.

Responsibilities

  • Aid veterinarians and technicians during examinations and treatments
  • Properly restrain patients using safe, compassionate handling techniques
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing
  • Bathe and provide basic grooming care for hospitalized and boarding pets
  • Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized and boarding animals
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, and hospital equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized hospital environment
  • Assist the medical team wherever needed to provide outstanding patient care
  • Support teammates to help maintain an efficient daily workflow

Requirements

  • Previous veterinary or animal care experience is preferred but not required
  • Passion for animal care and a willingness to learn
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassion for patients, clients, and coworkers
  • Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable and willing to jump in wherever needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills

Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule

Weekday morning and afternoon shifts with 2–3 weekend kennel shifts per month
