Pest Control Technician

Responsibilities

• Complete Orkin’s award-winning training to learn the skills and knowledge required to serve customers.
• Prioritize safety in all responsibilities, including operating a company vehicle and maintaining cleanliness of equipment.
• Follow a route schedule within an assigned territory, ensuring timely and safe arrival at each customer’s location.
• Conduct yourself with professionalism and integrity with customers and coworkers.
• Serve as a problem solver for customers by listening to their needs and recommending efficient, innovative solutions.
• Meet with customers in their homes or businesses to explain actions taken, ensure satisfaction, and discuss additional services.
• Inspect the interior and exterior of customer properties to diagnose and address pest issues.
• Communicate with customers to confirm satisfaction and explain pest management programs.
• Complete all required service-related documentation using a handheld device for accuracy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to obtain the appropriate pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment (company paid).
• Ability to work independently, manage route-based assignments, and interact with customers.
• Meet physical job requirements, including:
  • Safely using a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Accessing crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, rooftops, and other areas requiring climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including an OSHA-compliant respirator when required.
  • Working in various weather conditions.
