Pest Control Technician

Responsibilities
- Complete Orkin’s award-winning training to learn the skills and knowledge required to serve customers.
- Prioritize safety in all responsibilities, including operating a company vehicle and maintaining equipment.
- Follow a route schedule within an assigned territory, ensuring timely and safe arrival at each customer’s location.
- Conduct yourself with professionalism and integrity with customers and coworkers.
- Serve as a problem solver by listening to customers’ needs and recommending efficient, innovative solutions.
- Inspect the interior and exterior of customers’ properties to diagnose and treat pest issues.
- Communicate with customers to explain actions taken, ensure satisfaction, and discuss additional services.
- Complete all required service-related documentation using a handheld device for accuracy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to obtain the appropriate pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment (company paid).
- Ability to work independently, manage route-based assignments, and interact with customers.
Physical Demands
- Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer’s weight capacity.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, rooftops, and other areas requiring climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including an OSHA-compliant respirator when required.
- Work in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
No prior pest control experience is required—Orkin provides extensive paid training. A service-oriented mindset, commitment to safety, and teamwork are essential.
