Pest Control Technician ($1500 Sign On Bonus)

About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to perform industry-leading pest management services for residential customers. You will identify and eliminate pests from residential properties by conducting thorough inspections, determining the type of pest infestation, applying appropriate treatments like pesticides and traps, and providing preventative measures to prevent future infestations. You will adhere to safety regulations and communicate with clients about pest control solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points
- Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards
- Educate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest-free environment; provide advice on reducing the risk of future infestations
- Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm appointments, assist with sales to current customers, and expand services to new customers
- Ensure all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols
- Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle (routine maintenance provided)
Essential Job Functions
- Working in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
- Working around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals (training provided for safe handling)
- Able to work both inside and outside in local climate conditions while wearing company-provided weather gear
- Regular physical activity including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and moving up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including an OSHA-compliant respirator
Requirements
- Clean-shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal properly)
- High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the company)
- Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
- Willingness to learn and become knowledgeable in all areas of pest control
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills for following product label mixing instructions
- Customer-facing experience preferred
Pay
Hourly base pay range: $19.00 - $25.00. Starting pay may vary based on geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also include overtime, incentives, commissions, performance bonuses, and route assignment (where applicable).
