Responsibilities
- Complete Orkin’s award-winning training to learn the skills and knowledge required to serve customers.
- Prioritize safety in all responsibilities and follow a route schedule within an assigned territory.
- Operate a company vehicle safely and maintain its cleanliness along with equipment.
- Conduct yourself with professionalism and integrity with customers and coworkers.
- Serve as a problem solver for each customer with empathy, listening to and understanding their needs.
- Meet with customers in their businesses or homes to explain actions taken, ensure satisfaction, and discuss additional services.
- Inspect the interior and exterior of the customer’s property.
- Communicate with customers to explain actions taken and ensure satisfaction.
- Complete all required service-related documentation using a handheld device for speed and accuracy.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to obtain the appropriate pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment (company paid).
- Ability to work in the field independently, manage route-based assignments, and interact with customers.
Qualifications
- No prior pest control experience required—training provided.
- Must meet physical job requirements, including:
- Safely using a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Accessing crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, rooftops, etc., including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), sometimes requiring an OSHA-compliant respirator.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
