Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Talent Identification
    • Conducting interviews to identify potential candidates for Personal Lines Account Managers as well as other various roles.
    • Collaborating closely with Personal Lines Sales Producers and the leadership team to ensure effective recruitment.
  • Sales and Cross-Selling
    • Identifying cross-sell opportunities within the personal lines portfolio.
    • Facilitating meetings with carriers, underwriters, and marketing representatives to enhance sales strategies and training opportunities within the region.
    • Working closely with the team to create synergies within the department, cross-department, and within all branches.
    • Streamlining processes to help gain efficiency within all locations.
    • Identifying opportunities to enhance processes and/or technology to help reach goals.
  • Team Management
    • Conducting one-on-one meetings with Account Managers and supervisors to provide guidance and support.
    • Collaborating with other departments as needed to achieve organizational goals.
    • Providing assistance to Commercial Lines Sales and Service when needed.
    • Training and developing Personal Lines Account Managers.
    • Developing, partnering, and fostering relationships with the Personal Lines Sales Team.
    • Creating synergies between sales and service to help support each other in reaching goals.
    • Ensuring cross-functionality between Commercial and Personal Lines to promote client effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Generating reports for the leadership team to track performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
    • Reviewing daily activities through audits and analytics.
  • Strategic Planning and Vision
    • Developing and communicating a clear vision for the personal lines department within the region.
    • Creating strategic plans to achieve business goals, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive growth.
  • Team Development and Motivation
    • Mentoring and coaching team members to improve performance and achieve targets.
    • Fostering a positive work environment, motivating staff, and promoting professional development.
    • Working closely with other departments to enhance overall operational excellence.
    • Acting as a liaison between agency and carriers to communicate product and coverages suitable for clients’ needs to the team.
    • Educating and informing the team about company products.
    • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with carrier marketing representatives, service centers, claim representatives, and underwriters.
    • Demonstrating best practices through knowledge transfer and acting as a subject matter expert for staff.
    • Acting as a reliable backup for Personal Lines Account Managers as assigned.
  • Performance Management
    • Setting performance expectations and KPIs for the team.
    • Regularly reviewing performance, providing constructive feedback, and addressing any performance gaps.
    • Performing regular one-on-one meetings with assigned staff.
    • Assuming additional responsibilities as requested.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
    • Handling escalated issues, resolving conflicts, and making informed decisions.
    • Identifying process improvements and implementing solutions.
    • Ability to handle emergencies and unexpected situations that may arise and share with Team Leadership.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Managing expenses and resource allocation for their region of the personal lines department.
    • Monitoring financial performance and adjusting strategies as needed.
    • Demonstrating compliance with banking business laws and regulations as defined in company policies and procedures pertinent to the position.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Carrying out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Staff management responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPCU or CIC designations preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years Personal Lines Management experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and various rating programs required.
  • Experience in EPIC/Applied Agency Management System preferred but not required.
  • MA P&C license required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to perform effectively in an environment where confidentiality, maturity, sound judgment, initiative, and professionalism are required.

Pay

Salary Range: $87,722 - $118,424. The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, and performance. This range may be modified in the future.
