About the role
Brown & Brown is seeking a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative to join our growing team in Meridian, ID. This role is responsible for responding to client requests and questions in a high-volume call center, providing prompt, efficient, high-quality service, and assisting in the production of new/enhanced accounts and retention of existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Receives phone calls requesting quotes, changes to existing coverage and/or new policies, and answers questions.
- Completes changes/requests within 24 hours of receipt.
- Determines acceptability and placement of coverage, completes applications or endorsements, and collects premiums if applicable.
- Ensures binders, policy, or endorsement requests are completed within 24 hours of the date quoted to the client.
- Responds to client requests for certificates of insurance or auto ID cards.
- Receives and reviews all terminations and cancellations to determine action to be taken and takes necessary action upon receipt.
- Handles premium collection through forms, letters, and requests cancellation of policies when necessary.
- Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with clients, agency, and carrier personnel to minimize potential errors and omissions or claims.
- Actively seeks referrals from current clients to solicit new business prospects.
- Performs a broad variety of administrative duties and staff support services for an assigned group or leader.
- Processes a variety of confidential information and documents securely.
- Provides training and support to new members of the team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- P&C licensed preferred; or able to obtain within 90 days.
- 6 months of P&C insurance experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, OneNote, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
