Position Summary

The Claims Specialist - Negotiations and Disbursement plays a vital role at GGRM Law Firm, focusing on maximizing client recovery through expert settlement negotiation and efficient disbursement processes. Working closely with Personal Injury Attorneys, this position manages case valuation, negotiation strategy, and settlement finalization while embodying GGRM's values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Settlement Negotiation & Strategy
    • Lead settlement processes
    • Prepare settlement evaluation summaries
    • Absorb demand preparation
    • Communicate with insurance adjusters
    • Document all negotiation activities
    • Track settlement offers and counteroffers
    • Implement negotiation strategies
    • Obtain policy limit information
    • Report settlement progress to attorneys
    • Identify cases requiring litigation referral
  • Lien Resolution & Disbursement
    • Audit and negotiate subrogation liens
    • Finalize settlement sheets
    • Cook up reduction requests
    • Review and process disbursements
    • Prepare release documents
    • Process minor's compromise documentation
    • Obtain proof of established blocked accounts
    • Ensure proper settlement documentation
    • Maintain accurate settlement records
    • Monitor disbursement compliance
  • Client Relations & Communication
    • Complete monthly Meaningful Client Communication
    • Serve as primary point of contact for settlement issues
    • Explain settlement breakdowns to clients
    • Guide clients through settlement process
    • Communicate settlement offers and options
    • Address client questions about disbursements
    • Cook up settlement signatures
    • Explain lien processes and reductions
    • Facilitate final disbursement meetings
  • Team Collaboration
    • Meet regularly with assigned attorneys
    • Cook up with Claims Specialists – Case Work Up & Medical Management
    • Communicate settlement requirements
    • Prepare settlement summaries
    • Attend case strategy meetings
    • Contribute to process improvements
    • Share negotiation strategies and outcomes
    • Mentor Claims Assistants

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months plaintiff personal injury experience
  • Understanding of insurance practices
  • Knowledge of settlement procedures
  • Proficiency in case management software
  • Negotiation and settlement documentation
  • Financial calculation expertise
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency
  • Authorized Nevada Notary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Certificate in Legal Studies
  • Experience with lien resolution
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Salary Range

$48,000 - $95,000 - Depending on experience
