About the role

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. It includes counseling and managing financial services for military service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings, and presentations.
  • Develop and distribute financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and publicize various financial management classes and workshops.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
  • If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

  • Must be fluent in English.
