Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal financial counseling and education to service members and their families
- Aid clients with budgeting, debt reduction, and financial planning
- Teach clients about credit, interest rates, and responsible financial management
- Refer clients to financial resources, military aid programs, and support services
- Follow up on urgent financial cases within required timelines
- Deliver outreach, workshops, and financial education sessions
- Stay informed about federal, state, and military financial programs and resources
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with policies and regulations
- Submit required reports and documentation, including client contact records
Schedule
- Core hours: Monday–Friday, 0800–1630
- Flexible schedule required for client meetings, outreach events, and workshops
- Work performed primarily at Anderson Readiness Center (Salem, OR), with additional travel to military sites across Oregon as needed
- Telework may be authorized with approval
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- One of the following certifications: Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®)
- Strong knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, and debt management
- Familiarity with military financial systems and benefits (e.g., BRS, TSP, SGLI)
- Ability to provide professional, ethical, and unbiased financial guidance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
