About the role
This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. It includes counseling and managing financial services for military service members and their families.
Responsibilities
- One-on-one counseling and consultation with a commander or other providers
- Conducting briefings and presentations
- Providing referral resources to participants outside of counseling sessions
- Closely working with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets the needs of the installation
- Assisting service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences
- Making available informational financial materials to service members and families
- Coordinating and publicizing a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops
- Responding to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars
- Utilizing virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication
- Managing duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol
- Communicating with leadership and participating in regular supervision and training
- Participating in in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- High school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English
- If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Driver license, valid in state
- Other licenses and certifications preferred
Skills
- Effective utilization of virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication
- Ability to communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training
- Knowledge of DoD protocols and procedures

Pay
The salary range for this position is $58,440 to $93,500, with actual pay adjusted based on individual skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
