This position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers.
About the role
This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations, specifically at Camp Atterbury, IN. The role involves delivering personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
- Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, personal and career events).
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (e.g., web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, secure video teleconference).
- Manage "duty to warn" situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing trends and issues on assigned installations.
- Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
- Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program meets installation needs and operates within scope.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required. Alternatives:
- Associate degree plus 4 years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma plus 6 years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English. If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Must hold one of the following certifications:
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)
- Valid driver’s license.
Pay
Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500. This reflects the anticipated base salary range based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary by location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
