About the role

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include counseling and managing financial services for military service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings, and presentations.
  • Develop and distribute financial materials.
  • Coordinate and promote personal financial management classes and workshops.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication methods.
  • Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision and training.
  • Participate in in-services, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
  • If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Driver's license, valid in state, preferred.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of military lifecycle stages.
  • Proficiency in virtual counseling and electronic communication methods.

Pay

Salary Range: $58,440 - $93,500
