About the role

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Key responsibilities include financial counseling, developing educational materials, coordinating workshops, and responding to requests for classes or seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one counseling, consultations, and briefings to service members and families.
  • Develop and distribute financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and publicize various personal financial management classes and workshops.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
  • Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
  • If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Driver's license, valid in state, preferred.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods.

Pay

Salary range: $58,440 - $93,500.
