About the role

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, delivering comprehensive financial counseling to military service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one financial counseling, consultations, briefings, and presentations to service members and their families.
  • Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
  • Coordinate, publicize, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle (e.g., first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, career transitions).
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate financial education classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes (e.g., web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, secure video teleconference) as authorized.
  • Manage duty-to-warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision, sharing trends and issues from assigned installations.
  • Engage in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract-related activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, aligned with the role’s intent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Alternatives: Associate degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluent English proficiency. Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be required by contract.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Pay

Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500. Actual pay will be adjusted based on skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position may be eligible for short-term incentives.
