About the role
This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include financial counseling services to military service members and their families.
Responsibilities
- One-on-one counseling, consultation with commanders or other providers, conducting briefings and presentations, or providing referrals.
- Works closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets the needs of the installation.
- Aids service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
- Makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinates and provides a variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops, covering topics relevant to the military lifecycle.
- Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilizes virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
- Manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
- Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision and training.
- Participates in in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required. Associate degree plus 4 years' experience or high school diploma plus 6 years' experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English required. Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Passes the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Qualifications
- Required: Financial Counseling Work Experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Education.
- License and Certifications: AFC, CFP, ChFC.
Skills
- Effective utilization of virtual counseling or electronic communication methods.
- Communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage and respond to duty to warn situations.
- Knowledge of DoD protocols and regulations.

Pay
Salary Range: $58,440 - $93,500
