About the role

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. It includes counseling and managing financial services for military service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one counseling, consultations, and briefings to military service members and their families.
  • Develop and distribute financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and promote various financial management classes and workshops tailored to different stages of the military lifecycle.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
  • Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training sessions.
  • Participate in in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
  • If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

  • Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of financial planning and counseling principles.

Pay

$58,440 - $93,500 annually.
