Primary Responsibilities
- Provide financial counseling services to military service members and their families.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings, and presentations.
- Make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate and publicize various Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.
- Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
- If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Driver's license, valid in state, preferred.
Skills
- Effective utilization of virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
- Ability to communicate with military personnel and their families.
- Knowledge of DoDI 1322.34 and related military lifecycle events.

Pay
Salary range: $58,440 - $93,500
