Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide financial counseling services to military service members and their families.
  • Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings, and presentations.
  • Make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and publicize various Personal Financial Management (PFM) classes and workshops.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree plus 4 years' experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
  • If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Driver's license, valid in state, preferred.

Skills

  • Effective utilization of virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
  • Ability to communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision and training.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, particularly concerning duty-to-warn situations.

Pay

Salary range: $58,440 - $93,500
