Personal CFO
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and versatile finance professional to serve as Personal CFO / Director of Finance for three real estate principals. This is a senior, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of personal wealth management, real estate investment, and operating company finance.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain personal financial statements for each principal, including balance sheets, income statements, and net worth summaries
Coordinate and manage each principal’s overall balance sheet, tracking assets, liabilities, and equity across all holdings
Liaise with outside tax preparers to ensure timely preparation and filing of all required federal, state, and local tax returns
Manage cash flow planning and liquidity across personal and investment accounts, including daily treasury management
Gather, record, and consolidate property-level income and expense data from third-party property managers across the principals’ portfolio
Maintain accurate books and records for all principal-owned properties
Analyze rental property cash flows and work with third-party property managers to optimize leasing, occupancy, and revenue performance
Prepare and present periodic financial reports on portfolio performance, including variance analysis and key operating metrics
Provide ongoing property-level accounting and financial reporting for properties owned directly by the principals
Build and maintain financial models for development opportunities, including pro formas, return analyses, and scenario modeling
Prepare loan packages, draw requests, and supporting financial documentation for construction and permanent financing from third-party lenders
Monitor development timelines and flag financial risks or cost variances to the principals
Track and report on the principals’ active and passive investment portfolios, including real estate partnerships, private equity, and other alternative investments
Monitor investment performance, distributions, capital calls, and compliance requirements
Aid in underwriting and evaluating new investment opportunities as directed by the principals
Support day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting for Soltrust Advisors, the management company for Soltrust Residential REIT
Coordinate with the Soltrust Residential REIT’s auditors, legal counsel, and other service providers only as needed for Soltrust Advisors’ management-company responsibilities
Account for and report on the principals’ affiliated business entities and ventures
Assist in structuring and tracking intercompany transactions, loans, and distributions
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in real estate finance, personal financial management, family office, or a combination thereof
Demonstrated experience with real estate investment accounting, including rental properties, development projects, and multi-entity structures
Strong financial modeling skills, including development pro formas and cash flow analysis
Experience coordinating with third-party property managers, lenders, tax advisors, and legal counsel
Proficiency with real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, or equivalent) and general ledger platforms (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Prior experience in a family office, high-net-worth individual advisory, or multi-principal environment
Familiarity with REIT structures, fund-level accounting, or investment manager operations
Experience supporting construction financing, including draw management and lender reporting
Working knowledge of trust, partnership, and LLC accounting
Compensation & Structure
This is a full-time, direct-hire position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a competitive base salary, performance bonus opportunity, and benefits package. Specific terms will be discussed with qualified candidates.
