Personal Care Attendant (PCA) - Caregiver

Job Summary

About the role

Prestige is seeking a dedicated individual to provide direct resident care, assist with various tasks, and maintain a positive environment for residents.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct resident care while promoting dignity, independence, and choice
• Observes residents’ physical and mental conditions and reports changes to supervisors
• Assists with or performs Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), takes vital signs, and documents care services and observations
• Reports and documents incidents and accidents immediately
• Greets residents, visitors, and staff courteously, answers phones, and follows fire safety and infection control practices
• Serves meals, assists with dining room and kitchen clean-up, and maintains cleanliness
• Assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, transfers, and personal care services
• Attends and participates in training sessions and staff meetings

Requirements

• Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days of employment
• Must have completed and passed state-required training including the Revised Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR, and HIV training if not available through previous experience
• Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow safety protocols
• Good organizational and communication skills
