About the Role

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides compassionate support to residents by assisting with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and activities of daily living (ADLs). They help with linen changes, vital signs, oral hygiene, and resident repositioning, ensuring comfort and safety. The PCA supports nursing staff with tasks such as specimen collection, enema administration, and post-mortem care, while maintaining cleanliness of patient areas and equipment. They document care activities accurately and follow facility policies, including restraint and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with ADLs and personal care needs.
  • Record vital signs, care documentation, and support rehabilitation programs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, including linen and equipment care.
  • Support with specimen collection, enemas, and post-mortem care.
  • Follow safety, restraint, and infection control policies.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a NA1 training program, with passing scores and certification within 4 months.
  • Genuine concern for geriatric care, respectful, and compassionate attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work well with team members, and operate equipment safely.
  • Neat appearance, good hygiene, and appropriate uniform attire.
  • Willingness to attend training and adhere to policies and procedures.
