What You Will Do: Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will provide direct patient care, psychosocial support, and daily living assistance to our residents. Key duties include:
- Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs), including bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, skin care, and dressing. Assist with restroom use, bedside commodes, and routine incontinence care.
- Mobility Assistance: Help residents with walking, transferring, turning, positioning, and prescribed physical exercises.
- Meal Preparation: Help plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and prescribed diets, including kitchen cleanup.
- Medication Reminders: Assist clients with self-administering medications and prompt them via electronic reminder systems.
- Homemaking & Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean environment through bed-making, light laundry, and occasional grocery shopping.
- Documentation: Observe, report, and accurately document resident status and the care provided.
Job Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- License: Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License in good standing (free of major traffic violations).
- Transportation: Must have reliable, independent transportation (essential for assignments that require travel between campuses on the same day).
- Skills: Strong communication, excellent judgment, and a passion for senior care.
