About the Role

Performs a broad variety of customer service and sales activities to promote long-term customer relationships. Assists customers with account problems and questions, including initiating and servicing deposit accounts and related services. Strengthens customer relationships through follow-up calls, customer profiling, and needs assessment. May supervise the department, participate in the branch loan committee, and serve as a consumer lender processing loan requests per bank policy and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assists customers in making product and service choices that best meet their needs, including account opening and closing for individual and commercial relationships.
  • Proactively explores customer needs and recommends appropriate products and services.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to department members in handling phone and in-person inquiries, customer research, fee refunds, safe deposit access, and deposit verifications.
  • Conducts customer profiling at relationship inception to ensure effective product recommendations and follow-up activities.
  • Provides interest rate quotes per the bank’s rate sheet, obtaining special quotes for jumbo deposits as needed.
  • Accepts loan applications and conducts initial credit verifications and underwriting for Demand Deposit and other Consumer Loans, including ordering credit reports and providing payoff quotations.
  • Requests and reviews loan documentation for initiation or modification of DDL, Consumer, and Fresh Start Loan accounts.
  • Initiates and processes incoming/outgoing wires with necessary approvals.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance, including flexible hours and weekends if required.
  • Performs other duties or projects as assigned by the branch president.

Requirements

  • Full knowledge of personal and business banking products, with initiative to stay updated on changes.
  • Basic knowledge of banking regulations, bank policies, and procedures applicable to the role.
  • Expertise in deposit account products and services to support consumer credit underwriting and loan approval.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a department with emphasis on sales and customer service practices.
  • Professional communication skills with clients and coworkers.
  • Proficiency in operating computer terminals, printers, capture machines, coin machines, and copiers.
  • Effective listening skills and ability to make appropriate referrals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide leadership in customer service, cash handling, and referrals.
  • Ensures efficiency, accuracy, and customer service to meet bank goals.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Functions effectively as a team player.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 36 months of prior banking experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience or equivalent training preferred.

Physical Requirements
