About the Role
The Personal Banker II is responsible for ensuring the customer’s needs are achieved by conducting a thorough financial needs assessment and recommending the most appropriate products and services. This role builds and maintains customer relationships, delivers clarity through simplicity and guidance, and supports both service and sales functions at the branch.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate both Personal Banker and Service Representative functions to deliver efficient, accurate, and professional service.
- Provide transactional support to the Service Area (Tellers) and perform dual control functions as applicable (50% of the role).
- Open all types of personal and business accounts and prepare related documentation (50% of the role).
- Input and close personal loan applications, including DDA lines of credit, credit cards, auto, boat, CD, and other secured or unsecured loans.
- Assist customers with requests, complaints, and research related to deposit accounts, debit/credit cards, safe deposit boxes, official checks, and other bank products or services.
- Process non-post reports, wire transfers, credit card orders, address changes, check and deposit slip orders, endorsement stamp orders, and other branch reporting.
- Adhere to all branch security procedures, including opening and closing protocols, personnel safety, and bank procedures.
- Interface with customers via telephone or in person, supporting multiple branch locations as needed.
- Generate and maintain profitable customer relationships while exceeding customer financial needs and expectations.
- Achieve activity and growth goals, including customer satisfaction objectives, through face-to-face appointments and outbound calling.
- Apply sales skills and product knowledge, including deposit and loan products, to meet referral and sales targets.
- Adhere to operational, regulatory, and security requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, and internal policies.
- Complete annual compliance courses and ensure 100% adherence to branch policies for internal audit pass rates.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- 3 to 5 years of banking experience or equivalent customer contact/sales experience (e.g., Teller, reception, or secretarial duties in a business environment).
- Intermediate knowledge of bank operations, products, services, and related state/federal laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in mainframe systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and specialty software.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to support multiple branch locations.
