About the role

The Personal Banker I position at Fifth Third Bank is dedicated to providing exceptional customer experiences by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff, helping customers understand and address their financial needs through a consultative sales and service process.

Responsibilities

  • Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in a designated book of business through proactive outreach efforts in person, over the phone, or other channels as appropriate.
  • Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and all problems are resolved.
  • Analyze customer credit data and other related financial information to ensure customers are in the appropriate solutions that align with their needs.
  • Provide customer support needed, reinforcing the value of current and new technology.
  • Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED, along with 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree or equivalent military experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
  • Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability in making sound decisions.

Qualifications

  • SAFE Act registration required at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

Skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in using technology and digital tools to enhance customer interactions.

Pay

Total Base Pay Range: $43,680.00 - $69,900.00 USD Annually

Schedule

Normal office environment. Extending viewing of computer screens.
