About the role

The Personal Banker I - Part time provides customers with accurate information regarding the Bank’s products and services, handles customer inquiries, and resolves customer complaints. Protect the Bank’s image and contribute positively to the achievement of the Bank’s overall goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and promote cordial relationships with customers, ensuring prompt attention to their inquiries and solving their problems to grant maximum satisfaction.
  • Inform and suggest new banking products to customers.
  • Provide information to customers on their account such as balance, account status, and check or payment clearing history.
  • Ensure compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines while performing duties.
  • Protect customers’ confidential information and use it only for official purposes.
  • Improve customers’ banking experience by ensuring prompt service and resolution of banking challenges.
  • Conduct effective sales presentations for checking accounts, resulting in appropriate account recommendations and asking for the customer’s business.
  • Introduce customers to the Tell-A-Friend program and distribute Tell-A-Friend coupons with each customer transaction.
  • Help customers understand in-person and digital banking options, allowing them to select their preferred channel.
  • Expand technology penetration of retail and business clients by proactively using customer convenience channels offered by First Community Bank.
  • Open new accounts and service existing accounts as outlined by operational procedures, ensuring required documentation is received and archived.
  • Minimize deposit exceptions and address them quickly to avoid account closure risks.
  • Make qualified referrals to banking partners such as Wealth, Bearing Insurance, Mortgage, Commercial, and Treasury Services.
  • Perform branch operational duties as assigned by the Branch Manager, in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Participate in marketing and awareness campaigns to create and grow the customer base.
  • Consult customers on consumer loan options, explain terms, process loan applications accurately, and discuss debt ratios and consumer reports.
  • Ensure proper loan documentation is received for consumer non-real estate loans and resolve any lien perfection issues promptly.
  • Serve as a Teller, maintaining a cash drawer, accepting deposits, cashing checks, processing cash advances and loan payments, and performing other teller transactions accurately and courteously while adhering to regulatory and operational procedures.
  • Complete assigned training within expected timeframes.
  • In some markets, handle cash vault duties including balancing the vault, preparing currency and coin shipments, placing orders, and managing teller outages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to five years of banking experience.
  • Effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen without interruptions and provide solutions.
  • Patient and willing to help others solve problems while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Proven record of outstanding customer service.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using banking platforms and common office software and systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence people.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Pay

$16.14 - $21.83/hour (Salary Grade 3). The salary range is based on market data, and the pay rate is commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications.
