The Personal Banker I role at First Community Bank involves providing accurate information about the bank's products and services, handling customer inquiries, and resolving customer complaints. Responsibilities
- Establish and promote cordial relationships with customers, ensuring prompt attendance to inquiries and problem-solving for maximum customer satisfaction.
- Inform and suggest new banking products to customers.
- Provide information on account balances, statuses, and check/payment clearing histories.
- Ensure compliance with the bank's policies and procedures.
- Protect customers' confidential information for official purposes only.
- Improve customers' banking experience by attending to them promptly and resolving issues without delay.
- Conduct effective checking sales presentations leading to appropriate account recommendations and customer business acquisition.
- Introduce customers to the Tell-A-Friend program and distribute coupons enthusiastically.
- Help customers understand both in-person and digital banking options, guiding them to choose the most suitable channel.
- Expand technology penetration among retail and business clients by actively using the bank's customer convenience channels.
- Open new accounts and service existing accounts according to operational procedures, ensuring required documentation is received and archived.
- Minimize deposit exceptions and address them quickly to prevent account closures due to documentation issues.
- Make qualified referrals to banking partners such as Wealth, Bearing Insurance, Mortgage, Commercial, and Treasury Services.
- Perform branch operational duties as assigned by the Branch Manager, adhering to operational procedures.
- Participate in marketing and awareness campaigns to grow the customer base.
- Consult customers on consumer loan options, explain loan terms, process applications accurately, discuss debt ratios and consumer reports, and ensure proper loan documentation is received.
- In the event of a lien not being perfected in a timely manner, resolve the issue quickly.
- Complete teller transactions accurately and courteously, maintaining a cash drawer, accepting deposits, cashing checks, processing cash advances, and loan payments.
- Support the bank's mission, vision, and values by adhering to the Company Standards of Conduct and executing job duties as described.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One to five years of banking experience.
- Effective listening skills, including the ability to listen without interruptions, understand others, and provide solutions or contributions.
- Patient and willing to help others solve problems while maintaining a positive attitude.
- A proven record of outstanding customer service.
- Demonstrated proficiency in banking platforms and common office software and systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence people.
- A strong attention to detail.
- The ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods.
- The ability to sit for extended periods and travel as needed.

Pay
The salary range is based on market data associated with the position and varies based on experience, education, and other qualifications. The salary grade is 3, with a salary range of $16.14-$21.83 per hour.
