About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for our National Branch Network within the Consumer Banking and Lending division. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences by building relationships, offering financial solutions, and connecting customers to appropriate products and services.
Responsibilities
- Participate in delivering an exceptional customer experience by building relationships through proactive outreach.
- Propose appropriate products, services, and digital solutions to help customers succeed financially.
- Assist customers with basic requests, including opening new accounts, completing service requests, and submitting credit applications.
- Receive direction from managers and exercise judgment within defined policies and procedures.
- Develop an understanding of bank products and services to connect them to customers' needs.
- Interact with customers to demonstrate care and build relationships.
- Provide appropriate options for bank products and services to customers.
- Refer customers' financial needs to other bankers and partners as needed.
- Maintain cash drawer, handle cash, and complete service-related tasks as needed.
This SAFE position involves customer contact and job duties that may include offering, negotiating, or taking applications for dwelling-secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations is required. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.
Requirements
- 6+ months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Qualifications
- Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems.
- Experience proactively engaging with customers through outreach via phone or email.
- Ability to educate customers on technology and share the value of mobile banking options.
- Ability to help customers succeed financially by offering introductions to additional team members as appropriate.
- Experience working with others on a team to meet customer needs.
- Experience fostering and developing strong customer relationships.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal partners.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to identify potential fraud/risky accounts and take appropriate action to prevent loss.
- Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members.
- Relevant military experience, including working with military protocol, personnel benefits management, or human resources.
- Proficient in proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to support customers and employees in resolving or escalating concerns or complaints.
Job Expectations
- Ability to work a schedule that may include most Saturdays.
- Must maintain SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the registration process immediately after employment start date.
- Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements, including financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards.
- This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Locations: Newport Beach, CA (multiple branches) and Huntington Beach, CA.
Pay
$23.00 - $31.00 per hour. Pay may vary depending on factors including demonstrated prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
